Mental Health Themed Class Meeting
On 6th November, 2023, the seventh grade boys' mental health class meetings were held in the Junior High School Division of Anqing Foreign Language School’s east campus, which aimed to help boys better cope with pressure and challenges in life and improve their mental resilience.
To start with, with the development of society, the mental health problems of adolescents have been paid more and more attention. To be concrete, for the seventh grade boys, they are in the critical period of youth development, during which not only their physical and psychological states are undergoing great changes, but they need to learn how to cope with the pressure and challenges in life, how to properly handle interpersonal relationships, and how to maintain a good mentality as well.

Moreover, some boys expressed that they had trouble communicating with their parents, yet were more likely to empathize with their peers. After hearing these problems, the head teachers guided the boys to think about how to relieve their stress and anxiety by communicating with their peers when they had trouble communicating with their parents.

At the end of the class meetings, the head teachers also provided some practical methods for boys to improve their mental toughness, such as sports, music, reading and other ways to relieve their pressure and tension. In the meantime, the teachers encouraged the boys to actively seek help when they encountered difficulties, which is an effective way, be it to talk to teachers, parents or friend.

In conclusion, the successful implementation of the mental health themed class meetings not only made the boys better understand their psychological needs and problems in the process of making friends, but also helped them master more methods to improve their mental toughness. Also, it is believed that through such activities, the boys can better cope with the challenges and pressure in life, thus growing up healthily.
